Cakes fit for a gallery
Yesterday we featured a fun, Egyptian-themed cake by Ida Thibeh Wiese of Sweetsweets. When I saw the work of Ida for the first time last year, I was struck by his unique vision and sculptural qualities of his designs. Not only does she does create pieces that resemble sculpture but she actually treats them like sculpture by photographing them in a gallery and giving them the respect they deserve.
Drawings of Ida run the gamut from traditional sweets at multiple levels of stunning cylindrical inventions for cakes of winter-themed mini marriage capricious. But his goal is to create a piece of one-of-a-kind artwork for each pair that passes through the door.
